  • Planned an intern-event with Charity:Water by corresponding with businesses for donations.
  • Researched the culture of Guatemala in order to create 3 informational videos for social media with a team of three interns.
  • Conducted outreach to over 30 schools and student clubs to get involved with PoP.

Case Study

Situation: PoP wanted to increase awareness of some of the countries they do work in to show the cultural diversity of these countries. Through their social media channels, they wanted to create videos and target those who are under 21 and are already aware of Pencils of Promise.

Type: Social Media Strategy and Content Creation

Approach: I researched some interesting facts about the PoP countries that young people would enjoy, and I ended up finding a high interest in this demographic for fashion and food.

Solution: Using this information, we created a three part videos series on one of their partnering countries, Guatemala. These videos shared some of the clothing of the local communities and some of the delicious food.

Impact: These types of videos continue to be created to show the rich culture in the countries that PoP works in. The non-profit has grown significantly since my internship, so it’s important to not only show the importance of building schools, but to continue sharing the rich culture of these countries.
